International Blues Music Day is coming to Brisbane City. City Sounds and the Blues Association of South East Queensland have joined forces to bring together communities, schools, artists, and Blues enthusiasts to celebrate and learn about the great American art form and its incredible heritage, future, and impact.

Visitors will celebrate the legacy of Blues music and experience some of Queensland’s best in Blues. 6 Pillars of Blues will be the highlight event that will include performances from International Blues artists including Lil Fi, Kate Meehan, Angela Fabian, Mal Wood, and Chris Harvey who will all pay homage to world renowned Blues and Gospel artists such as Etta James, Howlin’ Wolf, BB King, and Curtis Mayfield.

6 Pillars will take place at the Queen Street Mall Stage 1 on 1 August at noon.

There will also be dancers from the Empire Swing dance group there to encourage visitors to dust off their blue suede shoes and join in the fun.
