Long time friends, Bec Peart and Martin Pedder of ‘Blackbird’s Emporium’, join artist Gill Pyke of ‘Catamation’, in an exhibition of Steampunk assemblage, or recycled and discarded items, each with their own unique story.
The assemblages will feature objects from kitchen untensils, to old bikes and machinery parts, each that are given a second life in these quirky and imaginative pieces.
The exhibition will showcase 3 of the artists’ major collaborative artworks, including 2 prize winning entries in the Recycling Art Competition run by Brisbane City Council.
Gill Pyke specialises in a range of mediums but more recently has found recognition as a printmaker and origami artist. Her works will focus mainly on themes of Victorian era botanical prints.
