Over 35,000 garden enthusiasts from across Australia and New Zealand are expected to pass through the gates of this vibrant three day expo which boasts 360 exhibitors and high profile presenters. The event has something for everyone with 55 nurseries selling around 40,000 plants per day which also include brand new plant varieties.

With the start of the event only days away, Queensland Garden Expo Event Manager Marion Beazley said preparations are in full swing.

“The grounds have already begun to transform, with the foundations for the Giant Kitchen Garden’s fully planted sustainable garden now laid. Once complete, this feature area will include a speaker’s stage, a broad range of herbs, vegetables and fruit trees, and some unusual edible subtropical plants for more adventurous gardeners,” Ms Beazley said.

A number of landscapers including SJ Landscapes, Waterscapes Australia and iLandscapes are already hard at work constructing some inspirational landscape displays that will be sure to give gardeners plenty of ideas they could adapt to suit their own gardens.

Ms Beazley says the landscape garden competition is always a favourite amongst visitors and participants.

“The landscape garden competition always generates friendly competitor rivalry that adds to the fun and regardless of who wins, the designs never fail to impress and inspire attendees,” Ms Beazley said.

And if you’re in need of someone to help you identify an unfamiliar plant or need some advice to rejuvenate your plants, the plant clinic will be on hand to offer advice.
