Slammed is an edgy and thought-provoking production that combines contemporary elements such as graffiti art, slam poetry and original live music.
Set in a fictitious high school, Slammed follows the story of Jake Ryan, a 15 year who is having a tough time after being neglected by his father and abandoned by his mother. However, as Jake battles his way through Year 10 we learn that he is not the only one getting “slammed.”
The production is supported by the One Punch Can Kill campaign and contains many topics that are relevant for todays youth. The launch itself on June 6 will include interactive speeches about key topics, live music and entertainment.
Slammed will run at the Brisbane Powerhouse from July 23 until August 1.
