The annual Brookfield Show is on again, bringing the spirit of a country show to the city.
The show runs over three days May 15-17 with gates opening at 8am daily, and tickets must be purchased to gain entry.
There will all the traditional elements of a country show (that will seem quite foreign to the city folk) such as equestrian events, wood chopping and a rodeo.
Each day boasts different activities so no matter what your age or hobbies, you’ll surely find something to pique your interest. There will be ring events, live music, arts and crafts displays and fashion parades presented by local schools.
Your kids can enjoy free face painting and balloon twisting and then go and watch the judging of competitions for a variety of different areas including horticulture, poultry, water fowl and guinea pigs.
If you’re more of an adrenalin junkie, you can partake in rock climbing or watch the venomous snake show. Or get down to Side Show Alley to try your luck at the games or jump on a ride.
Tuckered out after a hard day of entertainment, fresh air and delicious food? Then head to The Happy Hour Bar to sip on a quiet drink while you wait for the nightly fireworks display.
