To celebrate the launch of the landmark West Village project, an iconic heritage-listed ice cream factory will be lit up with a colourful light show.
For those who don’t know, West Village is an exciting project designed to transform a 2.6 hectare site in West End’s Boundary Street precinct into something new.
Designed with the aim to create a vibrant community hub, West Village project is a joint venture between PAYCE and Sekisui House Australia. The two companies are combining decades of experience and innovation and each have a proven track record in successful mixed-use projects throughout Australia.
On May 1, the original Peters Ice Cream Factory, now known as Factory One, will be transformed into a colourful canvas of images and the state-of-the-art light projection show will turn the iconic heritage-listed factory into a dynamic canvas during the launch party.
This building is one of two historic buildings which are at the heart of the West End project and both will be revitalised and re-imagined as part of this development.
Everyone is invited to the launch and West Village project director Andrew Thompson is hoping for an impressive turn out to launch the West Village project in true West End style. The Friday night markets will go on as usual but look out for the roving entertainment and street food offerings.
There will be live music, featuring everything from jazz to the coolest cowgirl, Bree De Rome. The Ice Cream Crew will be roving around and cool bands will be rocking the Motor Room and popping up around the place.
The schedule is as follows…
5.45pm – Ice Cream Crew
6pm – Jarran Aboriginal Dance Group
8.30pm – 10pm – Roving Performers TJ Quinton, Henry James Jazz Duo, Bree De Rome
Live Music @ The Motor Room
7.15pm – The Ultrafantastics
8.30pm – The Rooftops
At the launch, you’ll also be able to visit the West Village Vision Centre, a place where people can access information about the project and provide feedback. The Centre sits adjacent to the West Village lawn on Boundary Street, currently being transformed into a public space where people can relax, hang out and catch up with friends.
