Held at Wandering Cooks in South Brisbane, Conscious Consumption is a community event celebrating local produce and raising awareness about sustainable food consumption in today’s society.
The event runs for four hours and brings together people who are passionate about living well and eating well. This means eating in a way that minimises the impact and utilises everything possible to avoid unnecessary wastage.
On the day, there will be 10 local producers, QAGOMA Executive Chef Joshua Lopez behind the BBQ, a panel of guest speakers and the heros of the show – two Braham-style Angus cows donated by Stone & Wood.
Entry is free and plates are priced at $5 for small, $10 for large or $40 for a degustation of 10 small plates.
All profits from the event will be donated to OzHarvest (the first perishable food rescue organisation in Australia) and Slow Food Brisbane (who are part of an international grassroots organisation supporting the production of good food that has a commitment to community and the environment).
