Traditional culture, contemporary performance and a keen sense of comedy combine in the electrifying self-titled production from the Top End’s amazing Chooky Dancers – Djuki Mala.

Hailing from the remote Northern Territory community of Elcho Island (Galiwin’ku community), the Chooky Dancers arrived on the world stage via a hilarious YouTube clip combining traditional dance with popular culture. For Djuki Mala, these dance innovators marry acrobatics and dance theatre with their unique physical language and trademark touch of humour.

Directed and produced by Joshua Bond. Tour coordinated by Artback NT: Development and Touring.

Featuring a special curtain raiser performance by dance students from the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts!
