Annerley was named after a town in England. Until 1969 the suburb was served by electric trams which ran along Ipswich Road, now one of Brisbane’s main southerly traffic arteries. Gentrification of the suburb has seen many of the traditional Queenslanders in the area restored to their former glory.
The event showcasing the history of Annerley will be at Annerley Library on 6 March from 6pm to 7.30pm.
