Entries are now open for The Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival, featuring one of the most stunning tri courses in Queensland.

Based on North Stradbroke Island (a 45 minute ferry ride from Cleveland), the really, really, ridiculously good-looking course features a 750 metre swim in the sheltered crystal waters of Home Beach and a 20 kilometre cycle through native forest from Point Lookout to Amity and back (with road bike and mountain bike options), before the 8.5 kilometre run course takes you on a spectacular all-terrain tour of Point Lookout.

Oh, and when we say ‘all-terrain’, we mean all terrain — the run features bitumen, gravel, trail, boardwalk, stairs and hard pack sand.

It’s safe to say, then, that crossing the line at Straddie is an experience you’ll never forget.

The Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival features four events:

  • Straddie Salute Triathlon (750m swim / 18km cycle / 8.5km run)
  • Straddie Pure Triathlon (750m swim / 20km cycle / 8.5 km run)
  • Straddie Stride Fun Run (8.5km run)
  • Straddie 1000 Ocean Swim
