Former Miss Universe Australia Jesinta Campbell is putting on her runners for a good cause…
Thousands of fitness enthusiasts will hit the pavement on Sunday 15 June to run, jog or walk the Brisbane Times City2South presented by Westpac and with them will be former Miss Universe Australia and race ambassador, Jesinta Campbell.
“I am looking forward to coming home for the City2South,” Campbell says. “It should be a fantastic day and it will be great to see everyone out in the community giving it their best in both the five-kilometre and 14-kilometre events.”
Campbell will be leading the team for sponsor Westpac and will host the free pre-race warm up. With the introduction of the five-kilometre course, first-time runners are expected to turn out and test their abilities.
“I will be making sure everyone has a good stretch and shakes out any nerves before the big race and I am sure Brisbane will turn on oneof its renowned sparkling days for us all!” she says.
“Whether you’re running for a PB or simply having a Sunday stroll the most important thing is to have fun.”
The event also has a more serious side, raising thousands of dollars in much-needed funds for charity organisations.
“Charity is a big focus for me and I am looking forward to doing my bit to generate awareness and raise funds to support the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service of Queensland and the outstanding work these guys do in patrolling our skies and keeping us all safe.”
