You’ll be able to browse the racks straight after shows and take clothes direct from the runway to the wardrobe.

This year, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is taking its ‘See it. Love it. Own it.’ credo to a new extreme with a new concept.

The Shop the Runway market will debut at this year’s festival, giving guests a chance to meet the designers and browse the racks, straight from backstage, after each Group Show.

The concept will give guests a chance to see catwalk creations up close and in much more detail than you’d get at a standard runway show, and to place orders for their Spring/Summer favourites then and there.

Festival director Lindsay Bennett says the new concept will help shoppers connect with local designers and buy their favourite pieces without hesitation.

“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane has always been about giving a platform to Queensland designers, helping them reach new audiences and encouraging show-goers to support local businesses,” he says.

“Our new Shop the Runway market will really help designers and fashion lovers connect in a new way, and I’m excited to see the positive results that come from it.”

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival runs from Sunday 27 August to Thursday 31 August. The Shop the Runway market will be held in the foyer at Old Government House, and will be open to ticketholders following each group show. For the full program and tickets, visit mbff.com.au.
