Ever wanted to create your own fragrance? The Powder Room Perfume Master Class is bringing the secrets of signature scents direct from Paris to Brisbane.
The Powder Room Perfume Master Classes, to be held at The Incholm in Brisbane and QT Hotel on the Gold Coast, will give lovers of fashion and perfume a unique insight into the fascinating world of fragrance, and provide guests with an opportunity to design a unique scent that reflects their personality.
Samantha Taylor, the director of The Powder Room, has worked for Floris & L’Occitane, Estee Lauder, Miller Harris and Penhaligons in Australia and Europe, and is billed as one of Australia’s foremost fragrance experts. In 2014, she became the Australian licensee for global perfumery trainer Cinquieme Sens.
“Cinquieme Sens works with leading perfume houses such as Chanel, Parfums Dior, Hermes and Guerlain and gives me access to a global network of perfume professionals and materials direct from France,” she says.
Samantha’s Master Class has garnered plenty of media attention, including a memorable appearance on The Bachelor.
“In 2016 I guided Bachelor Richie and one of his contestants through the process of creating a perfume that best represented their relationship,” she says.
Guests at the Powder Room Perfume Master Class will enjoy a light morning tea and glass of champagne before learning how to write a perfume formula. They’ll then create a custom fragrance using the ‘Olfactorium’, a miniature perfumer’s organ containing the finest raw materials from Europe.
“Our guests will learn about the enchanting history of perfume, the creation process and how to select their next perfume,” Samantha says.
“They will leave with a new appreciation for perfume and a bespoke fragrance to enjoy.”
The Powder Room Perfume Master Class will be held at The Incholm (73 Wickham Terrace, Spring Hill) on Saturday 29 April and QT Hotel (7 Staghorn Avenue, Gold Coast) on Saturday 6 May. For more info and tickets, visit eventbrite.com.au.
