One of the biggest dates on Queensland’s style calendar is back for 2017.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane was last held in 2015, after which festival organisers announced that it would not return.

But, after a review of all aspects of the program to ensure it showcases the best of Queensland and Australian fashion as well as the brightest emerging talents, it’s been confirmed that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane will be back in 2017.

“We are absolutely delighted to announce the return of this premier Spring/Summer fashion showcase to Queensland,” says festival director Lindsay Bennett.

“The 2017 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival will be unique to previous years, as we select a refined program that will nonetheless shine a national spotlight on Queensland’s talented fashion industry.

“We have been working on new ideas that will allow us to once again stage the Fashion Festival with the level of prestige and the quality of production that has come to be expected in the past decade.

“We are also thrilled to have a number of key partners on board to bring our vision to life, most notably our principal partner since the beginning, Mercedes-Benz.”

Horst von Sanden, the CEO and managing director of Mercedes-Benz Cars Australia/Pacific, says the brand is thrilled to continue its partnership with the festival.

“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane is a fantastic platform for the Queensland fashion industry and we are proud to renew our association with this highly anticipated and reputable event,” he says.

“We look forward to once again partnering with the Fashion Festival and helping to drive fashion retail for Queensland.”

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival will be held at Old Government House from Sunday 27 August to Thursday 31 August. The full program and further details on guests and ticketing will be released in the coming months at
