Wedding photographers can be so expensive and sometimes the pictures don’t even turn out the way you want them – so why not do your own wedding photography? This couple did.
Liisa Luts and her husband from Tallinn in Estonia had the right idea; they photographed their own wedding.
Ok, so they may be professional photographers and videographers who own their own company, but it’s a good money saving idea for anyone about to get married on a budget.
Liisa took most of the photos herself, using a mirror when necessary, and they look great.
“When we decided to get married, we knew that we don’t want the stress and fuss about all the wedding related issues. We just wanted to make it legal and celebrate a bit,” Liisa told PetaPixel.
“That’s why we tried to avoid the wedding planning process in general and just go with the flow. And a valid part of that concept was my decision to shoot my own wedding.”
Liisa says another reason why she decided to do the photography herself was because she wanted something different.
“I just felt that I want something different, not those posed beauty shots and not the post-processed glamorous photo gallery,” she says.
“With all respect to wedding photographers, I just want something more us….and what could be more real than me taking the photo myself?”
All the photos throughout the day were captured with a Fujifilm X-T10. And, after posting the photos online, Liisa has received a great deal of positive feedback about the images.
“The aim of sharing it is to inspire people to go the way they feel and not to do things just by the book,” she says.
