Christmas is just around the corner and to help with your gift-giving, we’ve compiled a new itinerary of northside op-shops. This means you can get in the good books with your loved ones without maxing out your plastic!

Just a scenic 40 minute drive from the heart of the city, lies untapped thrifting resource, Redcliffe.

Cross the longest bridge in Brisbane, from Brighton over the bay, and head into Margate for the magic mile and a half…six op shops in the space of 2.6 kilometres…any bargain hunters’ heaven!

Lifeline Supastore

This supastore stocks some super labels with plenty of Forever 21, Sportsgirl, Witchery, Alice in the Eve, Saba, Marc Jacobs and Gorman garments up for grabs. There’s also a plentiful supply of colourful and patterned print mini skirts just in time for summer. Most garments, shoes and handbags are priced between $5-$10.

Lifeline

Just a street away there’s another Lifeline with more of a cosy, boutique feel. It stocks labels like Peter Morrissey, Basque, Tokito, ASOS, Country Road and Top Shop, which are collated on their high quality rack, with prices ranging from $15-$26.

Endeavour Foundation

This store is a Zara goldmine with brand new shoes from $25.95 and Zara handbags from $15. They also stock brand new Urban Outfitters clothing, vintage wedding dresses from $100, labels such as River Island, Mossman, Sportsgirl and even some garments by New York designer, Patricia Field. Every month they offer 50% off a certain item and occasionally hold mega sales with 20% off everything with some items starting from just $1.

Save the Children

This mega Save the Children store has colour coordinated racks so it’s easy to navigate, and with a really reasonable price range it makes for a great Christmas shopping spree destination! Dresses and shirts start at $5 and handbags start from $4. There’s plenty of vintage garb up for grabs too. The store offers 10% off on Thursdays for pensioners, and hosts monthly garage sales outside in the carpark.

Salvos Family store

Another op shop with a bounty of vintage is the Salvos store on Sutton Street. Nab some cute vintage leather shoes for $5-$10, a vintage blouse for $5.50 or an old school satchel for just $4. With labels such as Charcoal and Review also in store, it’s definitely worth a perusal.

Calvary Op Stop Shop

Just across the street you’ll find an op shop with items that are cheaper than a cheeseburger! Most clothes, shoes and handbags are $2 and there’s also a $1 rack out the front! The store raises funds for underprivileged kids in the Philippines and with fresh stock coming in all the time, there’s plenty of reasons to pop by.
