In only nine years, online marketplace Etsy has grown exponentially. There are now one million Etsy shops and over 26 million items for sale at any given moment. Even an expert online shopper might need a hand navigating this treasure trove of vintage and handmade wares!
Etsy Editor-in-Chief and lifelong vintage fanatic, Alison Feldmann, has shared her favourite stores to set you in the right direction.
“From Edwardian capes to patterned maxis and satin boudoir heels, there’s a shop for every taste and style on Etsy,” she says.
Alison just so happens to frequent Maeven Vintage on a regular basis.
“I love Maeven’s timeless take on vintage fashion. The shop owner’s collection of on-trend, structured pieces could easily be seen on a contemporary runway.”
Based in Brooklyn, MV stocks vintage jackets, dresses, tops, skirts, pants, accessories and shoes and ships worldwide.
Sydneysider Cara Mia’s store is also one of Alison’s top shops.
“Colorful and glam, Cara Mia Vintage specialises in splashy showstoppers that are sure to brighten up your closet.”
Cara stocks a long list of designer labels, from Chanel, Lacroix and YSL to Moschino, Westwood and Thierry Mugler.
Another personal favourite of Alison’s is Rabbithole.
“It’s a one-stop shop for cocktail party and wedding attire that makes a lasting impression.”
Think outrageous garments from the ’60s and ’70s with a lot of flair and you’re on the right track.
Rabbithole ships worldwide from Florida.
