Brisbane’s winter racing carnival is mere weeks away and a new event aims to kit out racegoers in fashionable style.
The Carnival Milliner’s Market set to take place on April 30 is a new initiative of the Brisbane Racing Club and will bring 20 of Queensland’s best milliners, menswear retailers and accessories stores under the one roof to offer countless options to complete the perfect winter racing ensemble, all in the one place.

What: Racegoers can plan for the 2014 Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival and see the latest millinery offerings from Queensland’s top milliners, menswear and accessories all in the one spot.

Fashions on the Field competitions kick off on May 10 with the ‘spotted’ competition on BTC Cup Day, where spotters will scour the crowd for finalists and choose an ultimate winner. A similar format will unfold on Doomben Cup Day, May 17, with a best dressed prize awarded to a male or female winner.
On Doomben 10,000 Day, May 24, the traditional Fashions on the Field format kicks in and prizes from fashion sponsor Indooroopilly Shopping Centre as well as Hugo Boss watches, Wil Valor, Samantha Wills and more will be awarded to a first, second and third place getter, as well as a prize for the best dressed couple.
Oaks Day on May 31 has an even bigger prize pool, with first, second and third winners as well as a prize for best hat.
The pinnacle event for Stradbroke Day on June 7 will feature best dressed first, second and third prizes as well as a dedicated prize for the best dressed male.
