Australian designer Lisa Ho’s name was among the list lamented last year as countless high profile industry names went out of business.
Providing you can’t keep a good frock down, however, Ho is set to make a comeback in partnership with Myer, which will launch a new range in August. Pieces have barely had time to clear the sale racks but the new range, L by Lisa Ho, will launch in 20 Myer stores nationally as well as online.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Myer – they have continued to show support for local Australian designers and a committment to growing and nurturing their brands” said Ho.
“The new pieces in the L by Lisa Ho range will be modern and easy to wear with an urban edge, but of course still keeping with my signature style and essence.”
The designer closed her Lisa Ho business last year after 30 years in business, failing to sell the business after it fell into administration on the back of mounting debts.
Competition against fast fashion heavyweights and a vast shift toward affordable fashion had been cited as reasons for the brand’s demise of an iconic brand Myer promises to bring back to the fore.
“Lisa brings a wealth of fashion knowledge and experience to Myer, which started when she began sewing at the tender age of 4 before going on to launch one of the most recognised and popular brands in Australia,” says Myer group general manager of women’s fashion Nicole Naccarella.
“L by Lisa Ho will feature wearable pieces for the modern consumer and is a fantastic addition to our strong Australian and international brands, cementing Myer as a premier destination for fashion and lifestyle in Australia.”
