Brisbane fashion label Jessica T has donated 300 pairs of shoes to the Australian Red Cross, to give back to the community that has supported the brand.

Jessica T is a Brisbane based fashion and accessories brand led by QUT fashion graduate Jessica Russ, whose ties to charity have seen her donate to the Australian Red Cross regularly for several years, but never on this scale.

The 300 pairs of women’s flats will be sold in Australian Red Cross shops around Queensland and beyond, with funds raised to further assist the Red Cross’ work with vulnerable community members.

The charity donation is in honour of the work the Australian Red Cross continue to do to support vulnerable community members, says Russ.

“It’s a fantastic way to be able to give back to the community that has supported our small business over the years, and to help Australian Red Cross continue their tireless work with those in need,” she says.

As designer and creative director of the Jessica T brand, Jessica Russ has travelled extensively in search of inspiration for her label.

Graduating from QUT fashion with honours in 2004, Russ travelled to Hong Kong and worked as a buyer, has worked in product development for a wholesaler in West End back home, and from there, grew the Jessica T label.

Within 12 months of officially launching, Jessica T was stocked within over 100 stores around Australia and internationally. Last year, Jessica’s achievements were recognised when she was made a Queensland finalist for the Telstra Young Business Women’s Awards.
