It’s not just the price that’s a big number in the Flying Spur, writes Chris Nixon.
Pay the money and you get big-everything – an engine with 12 cylinders and two turbochargers, eight gears, four-wheel drive, around 2.5 tonnes kerb weight and the unstoppable thrust of a 322 kmh express.
The recently-introduced series two Spur also comes with sleeker bodywork and a decadently luxe interior.
Other expensive cars have the same array of gear, but the Bentley’s presentation is… well, pure Bentley upper-class.
On the road, if you can get Jeeves out of the driving seat, the Spur really does fly with surprising agility, it’s easy to drive, but parking this big fella is a challenge.
