Retired Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice will auction off her Brisbane home later this month, after leasing it out for the last five years.

The tri-level luxury home in Paddington boasts four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, a fully soundproofed media room and an in-ground pool (of course), and is set to go to auction at 11am on Saturday 20 February.

According to Domain Group data, Stephanie Rice purchased the property in 2010 when she was just 21 years old for around $1.2million.

Place West Real Estate’s director Tim Douglas told Bmag that a move overseas has led to Stephanie’s decision to sell.

“She’s full-time over in the states now, so moving overseas was one of her major reasons for selling,” he says.

“It’s a wonderful home, it’s really good quality and in a great location.”

Tim says the property would suit couples or families with a busy lifestyle.

“It’s a stylish modern contemporary home and is very low maintenance; there’s not a lot of yard to maintain,” he says.

“It would be great for people looking to downsize or young professionals or families with teenagers. It would also make a great investment property.

“It would certainly suit people with a busy lifestyle.”

Located on Kennedy Terrace, the property is just three kilometres from the CBD and is within easy reach of shops, boutiques, cafes, schools and public transport.

Place West Real Estate agent Scott MacDonald says the property is in a “top” location.

“Paddington is a top inner city suburb; it’s really close to the city and is quite picturesque with its views. It’s also close to Mt Coot-tha where most of the networks are located and Suncorp Stadium where the Brisbane Broncos and sporting legends hang out,” he says.

Scott says there are also plenty of parks close by.

“It’s on an excellent street and in a really excellent location,” he says.
