In advance of the workshops, Deanne has shared some of her top Christmas styling tips with u
Pick a theme
“The easiest way to approach decorating your home for Christmas is to choose a colour palette and/or a theme,” Deanne says.
“You can go with the traditional Christmas colours of red, white and green or pastels, brights colours, white, metallic gold or silver for a sophisticated look. Once you have decided on colours, you can buy all of your ornaments and decorations for the tabletop and tree in your chosen colours.
“One of my favourite themes for Christmas decorating in bringing nature indoors with wreaths made from branches and seedpods, rustic decorations like pinecones and tree cuttings placed along the centre of the table with branch candleholders nestled and twinkling around them.”
Light it up
“Fairy lights and candles are an inexpensive way to make an impact at Christmas so put them everywhere, the more the merrier! Fairy lights look gorgeous strung up inside or outside, in vases on your tabletop, all over the tree, around the wreath on the front door and in the garden.
“Choose candles that have a Christmas-y scent, like cloves or ginger, so that the house smells like Christmas!”
This time, it’s personal
“With two little girls at home, we love having Christmas traditions and one of them is making gingerbread biscuits and decorations that we can hang on our tree every year.
“Christmas decorating doesn’t have to be formal or perfect and I think that little touches like homemade biscuits and decorations really add that personal touch to your space.”
Make a statement
“To create a big statement for your guests, make a huge festive wreath chandelier decorated with ornaments and fairy lights to hang above your Christmas table. It will give a lovely focal point to the room as well as a big impact!”
