OF COURSE you can get married underwater now.

When it comes to wedding venues, there’s a lot of competition out there, so it’s important to make yours stand out — and this hotel in Monaco has certainly done that.

The Hotel Metropole in Monte Carlo has just launched a 40-feet underwater wedding package, directed by free-diving champion Pierre Frolla.

The ceremony takes place on Monaco’s absurdly glamorous Larvotto Beach on the French Riviera.

If you’re worried about getting married in a daggy wetsuit, don’t be — you can stun in a neoprene white wetsuit with a voile skirt, pink scuba tank and veil, or you can suit up in a black wetsuit complete with top hat, bowtie and tailcoat.

It’s the perfect option for the adventurous bride and groom — or bride and bride, or groom and groom, since the hotel welcomes couples of all sexual orientations to participate.

Up to 22 guests can don their scuba gear and watch the underwater ceremony, which will be led by an officiant of your choice (as long as your choice isn’t afraid of a little water).

The cost starts at US $4,500 and goes up to $7,300, which is… actually pretty decent for such a ridiculous brilliant ceremony. The cost includes transportation by boat to and from the dive site, videography, music, and a reception (on land) with Champagne and French pastries.

The underwater ceremony is just the latest over-the-top wedding idea to be unveiled this year. If you’d rather stay out of the water, why not try a fairytale wedding in front of Cinderella’s castle at Disney World?
