Ever wondered what the world looks like from a cat’s point of view?

Well, you can stop wondering and finally find out with Japan’s new Google-style street view maps complete with images all taken from the eye-level of a cat.

Yes, you read correctly; a street view map just for cats.

The Hiroshima prefecture created the street view website to boost tourism in Onomichi city by showing people a different perspective of the city’s streets.

“We are seeking to introduce a different way to look at our cities and offer a view of the streets that wasn’t available before,” a Hiroshima tourism official told The Wall Street Journal.

Onomichi is a city well-known for its population of felines, even boasting a museum solely dedicated to Japanese ‘maneki-neko’ cat dolls.

According to the Journal, the map currently covers a shopping arcade and other surrounding areas in the city which is about 70 kilometres from Hiroshima; there will be more locations being uploaded in October.

There are 11 cats to follow around on the map, and you can even check out their background information.

What do you think of this new street view angle? Would you like to see your own city from a cat’s point of view?
