Away from the buzz of beachside Noosa, just 20 to 30 minutes drive from Noosa Heads, is the Noosa hinterland where historic pubs, day spas, rolling greens and cafes are beckoning.

There is a whole world to discover in the lush Noosa hinterland, not far off the beaten track from Noosa and less than two hours from Brisbane.

Do the “loop” and discover Eumundi, Cooroy, Pomona, Kin Kin and Cooran. Take your bike, pull up the car and hit the bike trails. Drop into the Eumundi markets, sit on the veranda of a historic pub and have a quiet shandy and a great meal or try the farm gates and experience fresh food like you have never known it.

The mountain air and views might inspire some pampering and there are a number of health retreats and day spas to help restore your life balance.

If you’re more in the mood for culture and a bit of history, visit Cooroy Mill Place with its interpretive walk through restored boilers and kilns or browse the historic Cooroy Butter Factory which is now a gallery featuring works of local and national artists.

Take the Pomona Heritage Walk or inspect the town’s Majestic Theatre, the oldest continuously running silent movie theatre in the world which has been lovingly restored by the local community. Try the Kin Kin pub where food is their signature attraction or join in the Noosa Trail Network from Kin Kin on foot, horse or mountain bike.

For views, try the spectacular Cooran Tablelands Lookout or the still waters of Lake Weyba in Doonan where you will also find a country club, day spa and shops.

Distance from Brisbane: Approx.130km from Brisbane.
