The winners of this year’s Australian Sand Sculpting Championships have been announced, and their whimsical works of art are still on display in Surfers Paradise.
Each of the imaginative masterpieces, based on the Dreamworks stable of cartoon characters, will remain on display on the foreshore until Sunday February 28 as part of Sand Safari 2016.
Sand Safari is the foremost sand-and-sea inspired arts event in the Asia Pacific region, with plenty of free activities for families and children, including beachfront sand sculpting workshops and sand art.
The event also extends beyond Surfers Paradise, with 22 intricately carved sand sculptures installed in hotel lobbies, libraries, shopping centres and public spaces from Tweed Heads to Loganholme as part of the Sand Trail.
Take a look at this year’s incredible creations!
Sand Safari runs until Sunday 28 February. For more information, visit surfersparadise.com.
