KitKat is launching its first ever permanent store in Australia, and we’re already booking our flights.
After successful pop-ups in Sydney and Melbourne last year, the KitKat Chocolatory is coming to Australia to stay.
We were lucky enough to visit a KitKat Chocolatory in Japan last year, so we know this is no ordinary chocolate store — it’s a chocolate experience.
We even included Japan’s wild KitKat flavours on our list of 17 Japanese trends we need in Brisbane, but sadly, Australia’s first Chocolatory is setting up shop in Melbourne.
Chocolate lovers will be able to buy handcrafted chocolates, try special edition flavours and even unleash their creativity to design their own personalised KitKat, choosing from thousands of different flavour variations.
To celebrate the Chocolatory’s launch, Melbourne street artist Dvate and the “Punk Princess of Pastry”, Anna Polyviou, have teamed up to create the KitKat Melbourne Street Collection.
Inspired by the city’s distinctive street art, the Melbourne Street Collection will include four indulgent flavours:
- Hosier Lane: Caramelising the Streets (Smooth milk chocolate, crisp wafers, caramel fudge, nougat, popcorn and potato chips)
- St Kilda: Sundae Session (Intense dark chocolate, crisp wafers, marshmallow, pretzel and raspberry jelly drops)
- Little Bourke: Yo’ Maccha Me Crazy (Creamy white chocolate, crisp wafers, maccha, toasted coconut and cornflakes)
- Luna Park: Candy Craze (Creamy white chocolate, crisp wafers, 100s & 1000s, pop-rocks and rice crispies)
Melbourne’s KitKat Chocolatory will open this Friday 21 October at 11am on Level 1 of Melbourne Central (on the corner of La Trobe and Swanston Streets), and will be open seven days a week. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
