This is a Star Wars event worth heading into hyperspace — or, you know, interstate — for.

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford — Han Solo himself — will be making the Kessel Run to Australia to appear at a free Star Wars fan event at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Thursday 10 December.

The event will feature music, trivia, “immersive Star Wars experiences”, an appearance by lovable droid BB-8, and oh yeah, a live appearance by some guy named Harrison Ford.

We have no idea what he’ll be doing at the event, exactly, but if you’re a Star Wars fan (or an Indiana Jones fan, or a Blade Runner fan, or a Jack Ryan fan, or a Fugitive fan, or a, uh, The Mosquito Coast fan), this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the man himself in the flesh.

Ticket holders are encouraged to download the official Star Wars App for “an astonishing new Google Cardboard Virtual Reality Experience”, if that sounds like the sort of thing you think you might be into.

Tickets are free, but you’ll have to book online quick to secure yours — shoot first at sydneyoperahouse.com.
