Looking to add another member to your family? Then the Big Adopt Out is the place to be…

After an extremely successful debut in 2013, the Big Adopt Out will return bigger and better this month.

Over 150 dogs from more than 30 animal rescue and welfare groups will be at the event, hoping to find furever homes. Over 100 dogs found new homes at last year’s event.

A large number of different breeds and sizes to suit every lifestyle will be available to adopt from 9am to 3pm. Entry is free, and there’ll also be food stalls, entertainment, vet advice and products available to purchase for your new family member.

If you’re worried about how a new dog might get along with a pet you already have, you can bring them along to the Big Adopt Out so that they can meet their potential new companions. Who knows? It could be the start of a long, happy, furry relationship.

After all, when you rescue an animal, you aren’t just giving them the second chance they deserve — you’ll also be getting a lifetime of love, happiness and laughs out of the bargain.

Most of the dogs will be available to take home on the day, if you’re ready. Adoption prices will range from $150 to $1200, and all the dogs have been vet checked, flea and worm treated, microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

The Big Adopt Out will be held at Brisbane Showgrounds (600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills) on Saturday 20 September from 9am to 3pm. For more info, visit our event guide.
