All aboard! Brisbane’s moving heritage experience, Steam Train Sunday, returns this weekend.
Passengers will have the chance to enjoy an hour-long journey through Brisbane in vintage style when Steam Train Sunday hits the tracks this weekend.
“Our incredibly popular Steam Train Sunday series appeals to people of all ages,” Queensland Museum’s Alex Hayward says.
“Steam trains are history that moves, allowing passengers to experience the sights, sounds and smells of heritage transport.
“Last year more than 6,000 passengers came aboard to experience this rare old world joy while travelling through a modern city.”
Passengers are free to move between carriages and take in the sights from the train’s balconies.
Steam Train Sunday will depart from Roma Street station for a one-hour loop of the city on 5 March, 2 April, 7 May, 2 July, 6 August, 3 September, 1 October, 5 November and 3 December.
A special World Science Festival Brisbane steam train will run on 25 March from South Brisbane station as part of the Full Steam Ahead: Pocket Science on a Steam Train event.
