This summer The Workshops Rail Museum has some visitors, Thomas the Tank Engine and The Fat Controller and they’re bringing circus fun to town.

After Christmas the buzz can die down and parents can be stuck for ideas when it comes to exciting activities for the kids, plus your exhausted from Christmas stress and don’t want to spend hours planning activities and arts and crafts to keep the kids entertained.

This year The Workshops Rail Museum has summer fun sorted with  Day out with Thomas 2014- with circus activities. The event kicks off on boxing day and will continue until 2 February 2014.

There will be a massive amount of activities to keep the kids entertained including the hands-on Thomas Play Pit and Thomas Imagination Station, where kids can pull up a chair and build train tracks and enjoy drawing and coloring Thomas and friends- they can even make up new adventures for their favourite train Thomas. The Fat Controller will also be doing the rounds ready to share short stories about Thomas and pose for photos with fans.

Now for the exciting part, on top of all of this Thomas related fun kids can also try out various circus activities like juggling, stilt walking, hula hooping and more. Andrew Moritz DIrector of The Workshop Rail Museum is excited to welcome Thomas fans to the museum to escape the heat and have some fun.

“Thomas fans are in for a treat, they can meet Thomas and The Fat Controller, give the circus activities a go and try spotting Thomas on our huge model layout,” Mr Moritz said.

Director Moritz also reminds parents that once the kids have explored everything Thomas and the circus activities have to offer there is still the indoor Nippers Railway playground and carriages to keep them entertained. Parents and children are also invited to take a tour  of  Australia’s oldest continuously working railway workshops, this tour requires closed shoes for entry and as an added bonus the kids may even learn a thing or two.
