“Australia’s oldest and favourite newspaper” is about to host a rager at Alfred & Constance.
Essentially Australia’s version of satirical news site The Onion (well, one of Australia’s versions of The Onion, anyway, alongside sites like The Shovel and SBS Comedy), the fake regional ‘newspaper’ has given us plenty of laughs since it was launched by ex-journalists Archer Hamilton and Charles Single (aka Clancy Overell and Errol Parker) in 2014.
Now they’ve given us something to drink, too, having launched their own brew, Betoota Bitter.
Betoota Bitter is now going to be available on tap at Fortitude Valley venue Alfred & Constance, and to celebrate, they’re throwing a Betoota Bitter Deck Party.
As you’d expect from the Advocate, it’ll be a true blue Aussie event, with a free BBQ (yep, that’s free snags and sauce), classic Aussie tuneage, a beer tasting competition, plenty of prizes to be won, and, of course, Betoota Bitter on tap.
The Betoota Bitter Deck Party will be held at Alfred & Constance (130 Constance Street, Fortitude Valley) on Friday 2 June from 5pm to 10pm. Entry is free.
