A pop-up bar featuring igloos, cocktails and a menu full of winter warmers is coming to Customs House this week.
Say hello to vodka, venison and Nordic luxury right here in Brisbane.
The Absolut Winter Pop Up Bar will open at Customs House this Thursday 18 May, drawing guests into igloos overlooking the Brisbane River.
Within the eye-catching igloos, which each seat up to 10 people, you’ll mingle around Nordic-styled furnishings and fur-draped lounge chairs, sipping on the bar’s signature drink — the Spiced Absolut Winter, featuring Absolut vodka and cranberry juice infused with cinnamon, star anise, cloves and orange, topped with meringue foam.
Of course, that’s not the only thing you’ll be sipping on — the drinks list is set to include a range of premium wine, beer and spirits, as well as specialty cocktails fit for a winter wonderland, including the bracing Arctic Citrus (a mix of Veuve Ambal, Absolut vodka, lemon juice, elderflower cordial, and Kaffir lime); Black Russian with coffee jelly; and a selection of whiskies.
Once you’re sorted for drinks, you can explore the menu, which includes gourmet cheese plates with Swiss Gruyere and triple cream brie; warming venison stew; crispy pork cheek sliders; and chocolate fondue with strawberries and marshmallows.
After launching on Thursday 18 May, the Absolut Winter Pop Up Bar will open at Customs House (399 Queen St, Brisbane City) from 4pm ’til late, Thursday to Saturday, and noon to 4pm on Sundays. You can pop in without a reservation, although the Absolut Winter Igloos can be reserved for a period of three hours (for a minimum spend of $700 per igloo) by calling 3365 8921.
