The Brisbane BBQ Festival is back, making a dramatic return to the Brisbane Showgrounds in a hazy cloud of barbecue smoke.

After selling out in 2015 and 2016, this year’s Brisbane BBQ Festival will be the biggest yet, with more authentic BBQ food stalls, more BBQ competitions, more chances to interact with your favourite BBQ teams, more demonstrations and tastings, and more market stalls.

Local BBQ hero Joel Romo, from JR’s Smokehouse on the Gold Coast, will be bringing his smokehouse to Brisbane, while Rangers Texas BBQ‘s famous brisket and Smokin’ Grill‘s massive smoker will make the trip up from Sydney.

Parrilla Argenchino‘s 10-metre coal fired grill will be serving their signature ‘Asado’ South American BBQ, and Get in the Q will drive up from Sydney in their vintage Chevy complete with custom-built 36-inch Radar Hill Smoker.

Rib-aholics will be well catered for with Joe’s Rib’s from Seattle and North Queensland’s Just Ribs and Artisan BBQ on site.

Local phenoms Ozmoke, Sticky Fingers Grill BBQ Pit and Smoking Gun Texas BBQ round out the bill, with more low-and-slow barbecue food trucks to be announced.

Brisbane BBQ Festival will bring BBQ buffs and beginners together at Brisbane Showgrounds (600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills) on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July; first release tickets are on sale now at
