Vegan burger joint MooFree Burgers is going mobile, and they’re marking the occasion by giving away free burgers.

The brainchild of Johnny and Michael Tabet (of Charlie’s Raw Squeeze fame), MooFree Burgers is a North Lakes burger joint devoted solely to meatless burgers.

Basically, the brothers went vegan and noticed that there was a real dearth of decent vegan burgers. That’s when they had an epiphany — why not make their own?

All their menu items are made without animals or animal products, and gluten-free buns are available for all burgers. Sides include beer-battered chips and sweet potato chips with, of course, vegan mayo; the North Lakes store also boasts a range of fresh and healthy snacks, juices and smoothies.

Now they’re expanding beyond their home in North Lakes, and taking their show on the road.

The MooFree Burgers Food Truck will make its maiden voyage to Charlie’s Fruit Market (473 South Pine Road, Everton Park) this Thursday 23 February.

They’ll be dishing out free burgers (The Fun Guy and the Chick’n Licken) between 5pm and 7pm (with a limit of one free burger per customer).

In return for your free burg, they’d appreciate you putting a donation in the bucket to raise funds for FAR (Farm Animal Rescue Australia).

They’ll also have merchandise stalls for Sea Shepherd and FAR on site between 2pm and 8pm, as well as James Aspey t-shirts for sale and live music from Humblèt.
