Foodies with dietary preferences are in for a treat at New Farm’s newest cafe.
MYLK + KO will open this Sunday 5 February with rows of indulgent baked and raw treats, including caramel slice, brownies, cookies and cakes, all created on-site with ‘deceptively wholesome’ ingredients.
Red velvet waffles, Snickers mousse, carrot chickpea pancakes, acai bowls, sundaes and more will tempt foodies from the brunch menu.
Owner Inés Scholtes, who has amassed 20,000 followers on Instagram over the past year, says the cafe is the culmination of years of experimenting with healthy recipes.
“My passion is for delicious, beautifully presented, wholefood-ingredient treats that everyone can enjoy,” she says.
“I noticed a gap in Brisbane’s food scene for a space dedicated to indulgent treats suitable for a range of dietary preferences, while prioritising unrefined ingredients and fresh, on-onsite preparation.
“MYLK + KO’s focus is on wholesome decadence, rather than concentrating on a particular ‘diet’. Life is about balance — you should be able to nourish your body and make your taste buds dance at the same time.”
As well as sweet treats, MYLK + KO will offer Allpress coffees, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and loaded ‘mylkshakes’ — milkshakes using dairy ilk alternatives like almond and soy milk, topped with a variety of unrefined, yet decadent, add-ons.
You’ll also be able to order a custom-made cake for your next celebration!
MYLK + KO (1/148 Merthyr Road, New Farm) will open this Sunday 5 February, with plans to launch a night-time dessert bar, cooking classes and specialist talks in coming months. Stay tuned for updates!
