The couple behind Brisbane’s beloved chicken wing food truck are expanding their fleet.
The new King of the Wings food truck will debut next week, and owners Dylan and Katrina Pires say it’s four times as big as their original truck.
Dylan and Katrina say the new truck’s unique design, including a split-level service area, will be the first of its kind in Australia.
To celebrate the launch of the new truck, they’ll be adding a few new items to the menu, including chicken garlic rice, salads, and a monthly special.
The new truck is just the latest big step for the husband-and-wife duo, who first launched their chicken wing restaurant on wheels — one of the first food trucks in Brisbane — back in 2014.
Last year, Dylan and Katrina were invited to New York to compete at the world’s biggest buffalo wing festival, Wingfest 2016, where they scored a coveted second-place finish.
More recently, they helped start the Brisbane Food Truck Alliance, a union of 22 of Brisbane’s best food trucks under their guidance.
The new King of the Wings food truck will debut next Wednesday 1 February at Green Beacon Brewing Co (26 Helen Street, Teneriffe) from 6pm to 9pm.
