Let’s be honest, the heat in Brisbane has been pretty intense of late. Rather than letting it get us down and keep us cooped up indoors, cowering in front of the air-conditioner or multi-fan system in place, it’s our chance to get outdoors and soak up summer.

You see, Brisbane actually has a number of awesome rooftop bars, just begging to be enjoyed on a glorious, golden, Brisbane afternoon, with a cold cocktail or beer in hand. Here are a few of the best, to get you started.

Sixteen Antlers

Ann Street & Roma Street, Brisbane City

You’ll find this gem on the top of Brisbane’s Pullman hotel, showing off a unique angle of Brisbane by offering views over King George Square and the Albert Street Uniting Church. It’s the ideal spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon, relaxing to cool beats and cooler cocktails while doing a spot of people watching.

757 Ann Street, Fortitude Valley

For the very best views of Brisbane, head directly to Eleven Rooftop Bar. You’ll find yourself absolutely spoiled with 270 degree views of the CBD, Valley and surrounding suburbs. If nothing else, it’s an incredible view point. Thankfully, there is more! They also serve delicious food and have a great range of wines, cocktails and beers, including some great local craft brews.

Lennons Rooftop Bar

2/72 Queen Street, Brisbane City

There are a lot of things to love about the elegant Lennons Rooftop Bar, but perhaps the best is the angle at which you get to survey the world below. While you lazily lap down glamorous cocktails and craft beers, you can check out the vintage old-world facade of the Myer Centre and enjoy the twinkling city lights bouncing off the pool.

Eagles Nest

21 Lambert Street, Kangaroo Point

Perched up high on top of The Point Hotel, Eagles Nest offers some of the best sunset views of Brisbane you could hope for. This Sunday afternoon favourite is the ideal spot to cosy up next to a cold beverage and good friends, making the most of a lazy afternoon in the sunshine and taking in those million dollar views.

Sazerac Rooftop Bar and Lounge

99 Mary Street, Brisbane City

Take a trip to Level 30 of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and you’ll discover Sazerac, home of epic cocktails and fantastic views. You’ll love the elegant cocktail list, which pays tribute to the classics, and their impressive whisky menu too. Best of all, great views of Brisbane CBD, the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and Story Bridge to sit and ponder over.

Dandy’s Rooftop Bar

71-73 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane

Visit Dandy’s Rooftop Bar, located at the top of The Fox Hotel, and step into a world of bright colours, brilliant cocktails and big city lights. They pump out great music in a setting that’s too fun not to enjoy, along with a big selection of cold beverages perfect for beating the summer heat.

Elixir Rooftop Bar

646 Ann Street, Brisbane City

Climb the stairs to Elixir Rooftop Bar and find yourself in a classy world of wooden seating, soft lighting, lush greenery and white fabric flowing in the breeze. Located in the Valley, Elixir is a haven away from the busy streets below, serving up great craft beers, fine wines and cocktails with a selection of delicious food to match.

Up on Constance

20 Constance Street, Fortitude Valley

Visit the top of the Tryp Hotel in the Valley and take up a spot in the bright, light and airy rooftop bar, Up On Constance. Unsurprisingly, located on Constance Street. Get there before sunset to watch the world around you turn from golden yellow and deep orange to dreamy shades of blue. Once you’ve had your fill, take your hungry tum downstairs to Chur Burger and refuel.

Limes Hotel Rooftop Bar

142 Constance Street, Fortitude Valley

A favourite among Brisbane locals, the great thing about Limes is they show movies in the open-air rooftop space on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. They also have special hot tub nights, where you can hop in one of the cosy jacuzzis and watch your troubles melt away.

The Stock Exchange

131 Edward Street, Brisbane City

If you feel more at home in a friendly pub-garden style space, look no further than the open-air rooftop bar at The Stock Exchange. Adorned with strings of festival lights and hanging plants, it offers a laid-back, but still sophisticated space perfect for taking in those big city buildings around you. Get your hands on a few cold drinks and a bite to eat, all best enjoyed with friends, of course.
