Green Beacon Brewing Co is about to hold its fourth annual Oyster Festival.

They’ve sourced the best oysters from around the country for the event, which will basically be life-affirming for everyone who loves oysters and very skippable for people who do not love oysters.

They’ll be offering mixed half and full dozen specials all day long, and there’ll be fresh seafood platters for those who care to share.

Naturally, since Green Beacon is behind this, beer is involved — their master brewers have made a keg of Oyster Stout that will be tapped at midday. That’s maybe not the most appealing name for a beer, but they say it’s delicious, and it’s the perfect accompaniment to freshly shucked oysters.

If you need a break from oysters, the Phunky Dory Food Truck will be there from 4:30pm, dishing out fresh Australian fish and beer battered chips, fried calamari and salt and pepper prawns.

The Oyster Festival will be held at Green Beacon Brewing (26 Helen Street, Teneriffe) on Sunday 27 November from midday to 8pm. For more info, visit the event page.
