One of Newstead’s favourite cafes is celebrating its Italian roots with a Roman Holiday pop-up bar.
Locale has been bringing a little slice of Italy to Newstead for a while now, and it’s about to get a whole lot sweeter.
They’ll be offering a selection of regional street foods in a pop-up bar themed after Roman Holiday, the classic romantic comedy starring Hollywood legends Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.
The one everybody will be after is maritozzi, a traditional Roman sweet brioche filled with flavours like passionfruit chantilly cream, ricotta and orange, Italian bacio and more.
Mmm… creamy.
The Roman Holiday pop-up bar will be held at Locale (3/50 Commercial Road, Newstead) on Thursday 10 November, from 7am until they sell out of those sweet, sweet buns.
Incidentally, Roman Holiday is actually screening in Brisbane tonight — it’s the Closing Night film at this year’s Italian Film Festival at Palace Centro. Tickets to that screening are available here.
