Assemble your #sugarsquad. Brisbane’s first dessert festival is about to bring more sweet treats together in one place than you can handle.
Born out of a love of all things sweet, sticky and chocolate coated, The Sugar Market is here to prove that it’s always a good time for dessert.
Over a dozen sugary stalls have now been confirmed for the festival, including some of Brisbane’s favourite treat makers.
Lucid Sweets will headline with a rainbow of their dainty meringues, Fiori Bakehouse will offer an array of miniature boozy cupcakes (yes, please), and Zoe’s Brownies will dish up a chocolate overload with their decadent fudgy squares.
Minus 32 will be bringing ice cream cronuts to the mix, and other confirmed pop-ups include Old Style Russian Fudge, Mr Brulee, Southside Bistro, Chokola’j and the Swedish Candy Bar, with more to be announced.
If your conscience is craving a guilt-free dessert after all those sugar-heavy sweets, My Plate Clean Treats will also be bringing their raw goodies to the party.
Along with sugar-laden stalls and food vans, the festival will feature an array of pop-up bars and live acoustic musicians. You’ll be able to pair your confections with an ice cold frosé, or a sweet iced tea from Two Teas.
The inaugural Sugar Market will be held at Alden Street in Fortitude Valley (near event sponsor The Wickham) on Saturday 29 October from 11am to 5pm.
