If the meatballs are your favourite part of a trip to IKEA, you’re in luck.
Celebrating the launch of the 2017 IKEA catalogue, IKEA Australia is sharing its IKEA meatballs (or KÖTTBULLAR, as the Swedes call them) with Brisbanites for free!
The IKEA Mobile Catalogue will arrive in Queen Street Mall on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 September (from 10am each day), and locals are invited to get a taste of the new IKEA catalogue and app, dished up with a serve of traditional Swedish meatballs and surrounded by a sample of some of the 500 new products that have landed in IKEA stores around the country,
Though the meatballs won’t cost you any money, you will need to spend some social currency. You’ll be asked to download the IKEA Catalogue app (via Google Play or the App store), and share your experience using the #IKEAcatalogue2017 hashtag, in exchange for your serve of IKEA meatballs with lingonberry jam and gravy.
IKEA Logan store manager Renea Robson says the new IKEA Catalogue app’s 360 degree, augmented reality functionality will make it possible to virtually place IKEA products in your own home to see how they might fit.
“The 2017 IKEA Mobile Catalogue celebrates the launch of the 2017 Catalogue and the importance of life in and around the kitchen,” she says.
“In Australia, we know that the kitchen is the hub of the home, so we’re taking a part of our iconic Swedish kitchen — the meatball (KÖTTBULLAR) on the road.
“We are thrilled to be able to share a taste of the 2017 Catalogue and some of our new products in Brisbane over two days. We encourage people to come on down, say hej and enjoy some meatballs with us!
“It is an exciting time for Queensland, as we prepare to open our second IKEA store [in North Lakes], making IKEA more accessible to Queenslanders.”
