Rapidly expanding American-style burger joint Getta Burger has announced another two openings.
The popular burger chain will open at Yamanto (422 Warwick Road) and Capalaba (67 Redland Bay Road) towards the end of October.
Both stores will have outdoor seating and plenty of parking, and the traditional Getta Burger menu, featuring American-style burgers like the Getta Boss (with 12-hour smoked beef brisket, crispy bacon, double cheese, pickles, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce), the Getta Lot (with a beef patty, bacon, double cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, BBQ sauce, mustard, pickles and mayo), and their famous filthy fries.
The new stores will join Getta Burger’s current locations in Ashgrove, Bridgeman Downs, Carina, Clayfield, Underwood and West End.
Owner Brent Poulter’s strategy has been to seek out locations that aren’t already swamped with similar offerings, so it’s unlikely that you’ll find Getta Burger in Fortitude Valley anytime soon.
“It’s all about being able to get that top quality burger that you’ll often find somewhere in the Valley, and having it available right at your door step in the suburbs,” Poulter told us when Getta Burger last expanded in May.
“Our motto is ‘we make burgers the hard way’, because we make everything ourselves. We don’t order in frozen patties or anything like that. It’s top quality and it tastes good.”
Brent started his burger empire with a food truck, That BBQ Joint, in 2012. In 2014, he opened his first brick-and-mortar venue in Carina, and he hasn’t looked back since.
“I’ve stood on the customer’s side a lot more than the service side and felt disappointed too often, and that really drives my passion to improve it all,” he says.
After the new stores open in Yamanto and Capalaba, Getta Burger will set its sights on opening in Townsville, having secured a site there just yesterday. The Townsville store is expected to open later this year.
And North Lakes residents, don’t despair — Brent says he’s “working on a deal in North Lakes at the moment”.
