The Strawberry Festival will celebrate one of the biggest farming industries in Queensland.
Did you know 40 percent of Queensland’s strawberries come from the Moreton Bay region?
The second annual Strawberry Festival will be held at Sandstone Point Hotel in August, celebrating this delicious and nutritious fruit.
The event will feature farm fresh strawberry stalls, scones-with-jam stands, strawberry milkshakes, chocolate-coated strawberries, and the return of The Strawberry Patch Bar, which will feature an all-strawberry drinks menu.
There’ll also be live entertainment including a Dirtgirlworld show for the kids, live music, a strawberry eating competition and rides.
Luigi Coco, President of the Queensland Strawberry Growers Association, says the Strawberry Festival will be a great opportunity to highlight the work of Queensland farmers.
“The Queensland strawberry industry is excited about the Sandstone Point Hotel Strawberry Festival coming up in August,” he says.
“It’s fantastic to finally have an event in the area that celebrates strawberries, and we hope that the community gets behind this wonderful initiative. It will be a great day for the whole family!”
The Strawberry Festival will be held at the Sandstone Point Hotel (1800 Bribie Island Road, Sandstone Point) on Saturday 20 August from 11am to 8pm. Entry is free.
