The Manly Hotel has jumped on the craft beer band wagon and opened its own craft beer bar – making it the first of its kind on Brisbane’s Bayside.

Open from Tuesday to Sunday, the HB Bar offers Baysiders a range of boutique craft beer and premium wine on tap, without all the hassles of travelling into the city.

The stunning new bar is almost unrecognisable from its previous look, following a Hampton’s inspired makeover earlier this year.

The previously dark space is now full of distressed white timber, a ceiling high tropical banana leaf feature wall and classic beech and bentwood furniture.

Licensed Victualler, Sandy McDonald says “customers are in awe of the contemporary finishes we have presented in the HB Bar and love the contrast against the old world charm of the 1955 building”.

The bar accommodates for ten premium products on tap including two wines (available by glass or carafe) and eight craft beers/ciders (available by tasting paddle, half pint or pint).

“With a major focus on the James Squire range, we provide only the highest quality products encouraging customers to “taste a beer, not just drink it” in the words of James Squires’ Brewmaster Dr. Chuck Hahn,” Sandy says.

Customers can enjoy live entertainment six days a week ranging from classic pub trivia, a musician’s jam night, musical bingo, karaoke and 18 hours of live music.

In addition, the HB Bar also offers exclusive food deals and a tailored bar menu, full of options ready to pair with every craft beer flavour on tap perfectly.

“As another brushstroke on the canvas of Bayside’s seaside suburb of Manly, we are very proud to present this multi-function room as a social space, drink, food and functions venue to our customers,” Sandy says.
