Going out for lunch doesn’t have to mean filling burgers and creamy pastas. It also doesn’t have to mean grabbing a box full of salad and pretending to enjoy each and every leaf you chew down. Thankfully, Brisbane’s food scene has taken care of us by providing an abundance of very healthy and very delicious lunch options. Here are a few of the best!

Pineapple Express

This superfood cafe has locations in Hamilton and Fortitude Valley, serving up healthy and delicious food.

Try their pulled pork, low-carb pizza, vegan burrito bowl or delicious fish tacos. Also on the menu — naked burgers, an assortment of smoothies, and CocoWhip; guilt-free, sugar-free soft serve.

Pineapple Express is located at Shop 9 Portside Wharf, Hamilton, and 16/65 James Street, Fortitude Valley. Both stores are open from 6:30am to 2pm daily. 

Kitchen Sanitarium

For a healthy lunch in Brisbane’s CBD, head to Kitchen Sanitarium on Eagle Street.

You’ll find the menu here boasting all kinds of gourmet, health-conscious options like delectable salads and sandwiches. They also serve tempting mains like sweet corn fritters and an insanely good lentils and five bean chilli nachos.

Kitchen Sanitarium is located at 145 Eagle Street, Brisbane City, and open from 7am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. 

Mondo Organics

You’ll find Mondo Organics open for lunch on Friday and Saturday only. Good thing, too, or we’d eating here each day.

At Mondo you’ll find a menu stacked with flavoursome and wholesome options like confit free range pork belly, grilled Cape Grim sirloin and beetroot and white sweet potato gnocchi.

Mondo Organics is located at 166 Hardgrave Road, West End, and open for lunch from 12pm to 3pm on Friday and Saturday. 

Kiss The Berry

If you’re craving ice cream for lunch, take a trip to Kiss The Berry instead, with locations in Creek Street in the city and Grey Street in Southbank.

They create delicious treats sure to ease those sweet-tooth pangs, like Snickers delight and panna cotta and rhubarb acai bowls. They also have a pretty spectacular smoothie menu to boot.

Kiss The Berry is located at Shop 65, 114 Grey Street, South Bank and Shop 1, 99 Creek Street, Brisbane City. The South Bank store is open from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Sunday; the Creek Street store is open from 7am to 4p, Monday to Thursday; 7am to 4:30pm on Friday; and 8:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday.

Botanica Real Food

For a healthy lunch on the run, make a stop at Botanica in Red Hill or Teneriffe. Not only can you get yourself a great coffee, you can grab takeaway box full of their innovative, flavour-packed salads (say goodbye to boring salads forever!)

They also have a very, very tempting treat display. Thankfully, they offer a few healthy options mixed in there, too.

Botanica Real Food is located at Shop 3, 29 Doggett Street, Teneriffe and Shop 9, 1 Enoggera Terrace, Red Hill. Both stores are open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

Miss Bliss Whole Foods

West End’s Miss Bliss offers up some fantastic healthy lunch options bursting with goodness.

Try their spelt pizza or famous nourish bowl, packed with roast veggies, lentils, cashew pesto and served with a gorgeously gooey egg on top. They also serve delightful salads, delicious burgers and fantastic coffee too.

Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen is located at 85 Vulture Street, West End, and open from 6am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

Little Saigon Grill

Fresh, delicious Vietnamese food doesn’t get much better than Little Saigon Grill. Try their Pho noodle soup to treat any unwanted winter bugs or get stuck into their fresh and fantastic rice noodles served with your choice of meet, fragrant herbs and fresh salad.

Little Saigon Grill is located at 123 Albert Street, Brisbane City, and open from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8am to 9:45pm on Friday.
