Brisbane’s much anticipated Death Star Canteen is fully armed and operational.

This will be a day long remembered.

After months of anticipation, Brisbane’s Death Star Canteen has opened to the public.

Owner Glen Morris — of Glen’s Espresso fame — has begun serving up coffee and sandwiches from a galaxy far, far away at the Queen Street cafe.

For those not in the know, the Death Star Canteen is inspired by the classic Eddie Izzard comedy routine of the same name — and yes, they are serving Penne all’Arrabiatta.

It’s a little known fact that the Galactic Empire was a stickler for ethical business practices. As such, all the Death Star Canteen’s produce is ethically sourced.

“Death Star Canteen is all about Galactic domination, coffee to power an empire and making the world’s best sandwich,” Glen told us when we first reported on the cafe way back in February.

“Along with those humble goals we also aim to be a break from the ‘sensibleness’ of the CBD. We will be using the Glen’s Espresso pioneered self-service honesty box till system, which shouldn’t work but somehow does, and just generally having as much goddamned fun as we can each and every day.”

Death Star Canteen

The Death Star Canteen is located at 359 Queen Street, Brisbane, and is open from 6am to 4pm, Monday-Friday, and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.

You may fire when ready.
