The Brisbane BBQ Festival is set to return with a range of authentic and delicious BBQ dishes from around the world. Is your body ready?

The festival’s new home at the Brisbane Showgrounds has even more room for pop-up vendors, who’ll be dishing up an absolute meat tornado, with everything from baby-back ribs and 12-hour wood-smoked pulled pork to Texas-style brisket, burgers and flame-grilled pork belly.

Stallholders at this year’s festival will include Sydney’s Rangers Texas BBQ and local favourites Ze Pickle, That BBQ Joint, Bella BBQ, German Sausage Hut, How We Rolls, Mr America Hotdogs and Fries, Smokin’ True BBQ and Local Mobile Deli, with more to be announced. Interested stallholders have until Monday 2 May to submit their applications at brisbanebbqfestival.com/market.

You’ll be able to wash all that meat down with craft beers from Newstead Brewing Co and Fortitude Brewing Co.

There’ll also be appearances from BBQ gurus Hillbilly Wes, Jess Pryles and The Shank Bros, as well as live demos and workshops.

Live music will be provided by John Steel Singers, The Hi Boys, Big Blind Ray, Barksdale Brass Band, The Walters, The Sugar Shakers and DJ Norto.

The event will also play host to the Brisbane BBQ Championship of 2016, as 40+ teams battle it out for the title.

First-release tickets are on sale now at brisbanebbqfestival.com; since last year’s event sold out, it might be worth getting in early this year.

The Brisbane BBQ Festival will be held at Brisbane Showgrounds (600 Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills) on Saturday 2 July.
