One of Nundah’s most recent additions to the café scene prides itself of bringing top notch pastries and sweet treats to Brisbane’s northside.

Como Espresso is a local go-to for pastries and cakes from the very popular Le Bon Choix and Yummy Direct.

Macarons, gateaux, cupcakes, friands, slices and eclairs line the cake cabinet, with fresh almond croissants and fruit danishes on offer as well. As a breakfast special, half price coffees are offered with any pastry purchased.

For a savoury bite, the small but well-crafted breakfast and lunch menu is set to satisfy.

We tried the bacon and egg roll, with grilled bacon, scrambled egg, rocket and a spicy tomato chutney on a toasted Turkish roll.

This gigantic roll used top ingredients that made each mouthful extremely satisfying. The fresh Turkish bread was lovely and crisp on the outside while remaining nice and soft on the inside. The creamy eggs were also tasty, as was the tomato chutney which packed a lovely hit of spice.

From the drinks menu, we opted for one of the many frappes on offer. The butterscotch frappe was a sweet delight without being sickly. Other fanciful frappe flavours included coconut, passionfruit, green apple, and white chocolate.

Lunch offerings include chicken filo pastries or fresh salads. The Alpine Salad combines leg ham, baby rocket leaves, red onion, walnuts and Swiss cheese with a honey-lemon dressing that comes in both a small or large size.

A range of gourmet sandwiches are on offer as well. We like the very moreish roast beef sandwich with baby rocket leaves, fresh tomato, Swiss cheese and garlic mayonnaise in a toasted Ciabatta loaf.

Coffees from Como use Toby’s Estate Woolloomooloo blend, ensuring you have a strong, well balanced cuppa to start the day.

Tea drinkers can savour cups of T2 tea, with flavours including Brisbane breakfast, choc chip chai and French earl grey.

For celebrations away from the café, large cakes are also available on order.

Como Espresso is open for breakfast, lunch and cake seven days a week and can be found at 3 Aspinall St, Nundah.
